Almost...

As part of my internship I was asked to create a hands on activity for young children.
Thinking about things that will be specifically about American Bride exhibition, I created a short activity for kids and a separate package for their “big brothers”. Margaret, my supervisor, guide me to think about “lunch break” type of thing, the kids are coming with their favorite adult to spend an hour or less in the gallery. So I created two separate activities that inform each other and the kids can choose from or do both. The second package was intended to be for those who can independently walk in the galleries and complete writing and drawing assignments in pencil while the younger are doing the activity. I divided the activities to two table so the kids will get the "stations" feeling and the materials will be divided. I went to some stores and created image & price inventory for materials. It was not very clear if I will lead those activities or not and the schedule became busy, summer camps were already going and my supervisor was a few days before retire. The program did not make itL But I attached the summery of it here to hear some comments and to share my ideas.
I think that the logistic side of buying extra materials was not the wright thing in this tough time frame but it could be a sweet activity.

  1. I like the use of materials and the use of contour line in our lesson plan for children. The texture project will inspire the children to create! I like your ideas!

  2. This is a wonderful plan, Tamar! I am sorry that it didn't get to come to fruition at GDAC, but I would definitely save it and use it again at another time and place! I think it is very adaptable!
